The Importance of Motherhood

Mothers must never be overlooked! They must be recognized beyond Mother’s Day. The world needs more good mothers who care about their families and about the lives of many others. This book emphasizes the importance of mothers, and shares many important but oft-overlooked things about them. Mothers are human beings too, and they need appreciation. Many mothers do not talk about their struggles, but this does not mean that they do not struggle. Rather, they prefer to celebrate their successes.

This book is divided into three sections. The first section provides insight into the life of a girl and her search for a companion. It reminds girls of the importance of learning, since they need knowledge to manage their families. Girls should participate in sports, and their parents should be there to support and celebrate them. The last few chapters of the first section provide insight into finding a companion and into courtship, so that girls would not hurt themselves as some of their mothers had done.

The second section provides insight into motherhood. It starts by explaining some of the things that a woman experiences in the process of becoming a mother. It goes on to remind mothers and potential mothers of the pain they are likely to go through in labor, as it is a situation of life and death. However, unending thanks must be given to the medical staff who help women give birth and bond with their newborns.

Both stay-at-home mothers and those who are employed have to do important tasks at home to provide and care for their families. Breastfeeding may be painful, but mothers still have to do it to keep their children nourished. Enforcing discipline at home is not something associated only with fathers; mothers must also teach their children values and enforce the lessons learned.

The third and final section describes what mothers should do when their children have grown up and moved on with their own newfound love. The transition from a house where many children had been competing with and complementing each other to an empty house is challenging for many mothers. Some mothers will seek pets to keep them company after their children had moved on to their own families. Other mothers may take up gardening to pass some of their time.

Children, neighbors, and other persons in the community can benefit from the wisdom of mothers. Some mothers can even become mother figures to people who are not their biological family. When a woman becomes a mother, her generosity often spreads to encompass many people, whom she comforts and helps realize their dreams. Thank you, mothers, for all you have done and continue to do.
